She also had a recurring role on the web series I love Vampires.Butler was cast as the lead character in the rape and revenge thriller I Spit on Your Grave which is a remake from the 1978 popular film with the same name. Although initially put off by the violence and nakedness of the film the film's strong character arc and feminist inclination helped convince she to accept the role.Butler starred as Jennifer Hills a novelist who was brutally gang-raped when living in a cabin the woods. She then seeks revenge against her attackers. The film was directed by Steven R. Monroe was launched in October of 2010. Butler began shooting The Stranger Within with Estella and William Baldwin, the psychological thriller set in Mallorca on November 11, 2011. The film was also scheduled for shooting at Copenhagen Denmark and New York City.She became part of the independent feature Treachery starring Michael Biehn which began filming in Los Angeles in June 2012. Butler also co-starred alongside Michael Welch in 2013's horror film The Demented.
